Key Personnel


James F. Barksdale James F. Barksdale, began his career in the finance department of IC Industries where he was involved with investments, acquisition analysis, and planning. After overseas assignments, he joined Merrill Lynch where he worked on asset allocation strategies. Jim then served as a portfolio manager for Management Asset Corporation, an institutional investment firm in Connecticut, before returning to Atlanta in 1986 to form Equity Investment Corporation. He received an MBA from the Wharton School of Finance, University of Pennsylvania, in 1977 after earning a BS degree from the College of William and Mary in 1975.


W. Andrew Bruner W. Andrew Bruner, CPA, CFA, joined EIC in 1999 as a Portfolio Manager and was named Director of Research in 2010. From 1992 to 1999, he was involved in accounting assignments for KPMG LLP, primarily in conducting due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.  Andrew received a BA degree from the University of the South in international politics and economics. He then earned a Master in Professional Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin.


R. Terrence Irrgang R. Terrence Irrgang, CFA, joined EIC in 2003 as a Portfolio Manager. Previously he was a Global Partner, portfolio manager, and product manager for INVESCO Capital Management. Terry began his career as an investment consultant, working nine years with Mercer Consulting and Towers Perrin, where he assisted plan sponsors with asset allocation, manager selection, and performance monitoring activities. Terry received a BA degree from Gettysburg College in 1979, and earned an MBA from Temple University in 1981.


Ian Zabor Ian Zabor, CFA, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2005 as a Research Analyst. He was named Portfolio Manager in 2010. Prior to joining EIC, he held trading, analyst, and portfolio management roles with AG Edwards, The US Small Business Administration, and Wachovia Securities. Ian received a BA in Economics from Indiana University and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.


R. Terrence Irrgang John P. Stewart, Jr., CIMA®, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2007 as Director of Marketing. Prior to joining EIC, he was a Partner and Regional Director at INVESCO for 15 years. In 2000, John received his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton Business School. Previously, John was a partner in an Atlanta consulting firm, specializing in investment advisor selection and performance monitoring. John graduated from the University of the South with a Bachelor of Arts in English.


Jack G. Schultz Jack G. Schultz, CIMA®, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2010 as Western Regional Director of Marketing. Prior to joining EIC, he was a Vice President with Lazard Asset Management and AIM Private Asset Management; prior to those positions he held various Director-level positions. Jack received his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton Business School. Jack attended Stanford University and majored in Political Science.


Fred Gifford Fred Gifford joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2011 as Midwest Regional Director of Marketing. He came to EIC from Optique Capital, where he was Senior Vice President of Business Development. Prior positions included similar roles at the VP and Director level. Fred earned his BS in Accounting from Western Illinois University and his MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.


Dennis McKinney Dennis McKinney, CIMA®, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2012 as Regional Director of Marketing for the Northeast. Prior to joining EIC, he was a Managing Director at John Hancock. He received his Certified Investment Management Analyst designation from the Wharton Business School in 2004. Dennis graduated from The College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.


Keith Telesca Keith Telesca, CFP®, CIMA®, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2012 as Regional Director of Marketing for the Mid-Atlantic states. Prior to joining EIC, he held Director and VP positions at Multi-Funds, Evergreen Investments, and Prudential Investments.  He earned his BA in Accounting from St. Bonaventure University and his MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University.  Keith received his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation from the Wharton Business School in 2008 and is also a Certified Financial Planner.


Kris Brooks Kris Brooks, joined Equity Investment Corporation in 2005, and is Head Trader and Wrap Operations Manager. Kris began her investment career in 1990. She came to EIC from EARNEST Partners, where she was Director of Client Services & Trading. Prior to that, she was with INVESCO as the Trading Operations Manager in their Managed Accounts group. Kris received a BBA in Accounting from The University of West Georgia.
